"A Return shewing the names of all persons who have purchased Land conditionally, under the Land Alienation Act of 1861; the quantity of Land in each purchase; the 1st or 2nd class Districts, or the Unsettled Districts, wherein the Land is situated; the amount of money received on each lot; the balance remaining to be received; the date when the balance of the purchase money shall be payable; the amount of the interest payable, per annum, on the respective balances of each purchase."

The index is arranged alphabetically by surname and gives the Conditional Purchase register number for each purchase.
